One of the very best things about summer is having the chance to head out and explore with the family. While the all-American road trip is a treat, it can also create undue stress. Before you set out this summer, consider a few tips for enjoying a more stress-free road trip with the family.
If you have kids who are a bit on the fidgety side, keeping them entertained and occupied is crucial for a successful road trip. Before you pile into your vehicle, have some sort of agenda planned out as far as games and activities. Be sure to also encourage everyone to pack books and their preferred electronic devices. If you get an all-new Chevrolet Suburban at Wiesner of Huntsville, you can have things made easier with the available rear-seat entertainment system, which includes dual 12.6-inch screens.
When you have somewhere to be and an itinerary to keep, you may feel pressured to make the best time possible. But your best bet for a more fulfilling road trip is to slow down and take your time. Set out hours or possibly even a day early to allow yourself the time you need to get where you’re going without feeling like you’re on a deadline. This will also allow you to make stops when necessary so that everyone can stretch or use the bathroom, and it opens you up to the possibility of making the occasional unscheduled stop to do something fun.
It’s time to organize and tidy up your car for spring cleaning. After months of ignoring your air conditioner, the arrival of warmer weather will have you reaching for the AC every time you get in the car. If you notice a foul odor coming from your vehicle’s AC, take it in to Wiesner of Huntsville for expert service from trained technicians.
A dirty cabin filter clogged with dust and bacteria will lead to a sour stench. Simply replacing the filter should eliminate the smell and get your AC back on track.
If turning on your air conditioner causes a fragrant mildew aroma to waft throughout your car, it could be due to the under-the-hood air intake vent being clogged with dust and wet debris, which over time will grow mold and mildew if not replaced.
Leaking refrigerant out of your AC evaporator is a common cause of a chemical-like aroma emitting from your AC. The refrigerant’s sticky oil will trap debris, dirt, and dust onto the evaporator fins, which will limit airflow. If your fan is blowing but no cool air is coming out, leaking refrigerant is likely your problem.
A maple syrup smell is a common indication that your heater core sprung a leak. Don’t be fooled by the sweet scent; bring your car in for service at your earliest convenience.
The spring season is in full swing, which makes it the perfect time to tidy up your garage. The following spring cleaning tips will help you organize your garage in no time flat.
Consider Donating Items
It’s easy for items to accumulate in your garage. If you don’t actually plan on using these items in the future, you can always donate them.
Invest in Storage
For items that you do want to keep, you might want to consider investing in storage bins and other containers to keep everything in its proper place.
Store Hazardous Materials Away
Speaking of keeping everything in its proper place, be sure any toxic or hazardous chemicals you keep in the garage are stored well out of casual reach or anywhere they might spill.
Thoroughly Clean the Floor
Since your car rests inside your garage most of the time, you might find some liquids have leaked onto the floor beneath your vehicle. That’s why it is some important to clean the floors of your garage.
Work on Cleaning and Maintaining Your Car
While you have your vehicle outside of the garage for spring cleaning, you might want to consider cleaning your car as well, while simultaneously checking for any maintenance issues.

Here in Texas, we love our pickup trucks. If you are ready to join the pickup truck crew for the first time, we have a few tips to share that will make it easier. These tips will help you choose the right truck for your lifestyle.
What are your needs?
What do you need a truck for? Will it be your everyday driver for commutes and errands in Huntsville? Are you planning on doing any towing? Make sure you get the features that you really need. For example, if you have a family, you will probably want a spacious crew cab Chevrolet or GMC model. If you need towing capabilities, be sure to get the towing package.
Do not buy more than you need
Trucks are big and can be expensive. While you might be tempted to buy the strongest, most cable truck on the lot, it might come with features that cost thousands and you will never use. Focus on the capabilities you do need and plan on using to help cut down on the cost.
Trucks are different than cars
If you have driven a sedan your whole life, you might be surprised by how different driving a truck feels. They are big and require more room for parking and other maneuvers. Do a thorough test drive to make sure you can handle the size.

GM recently announced that it would be partnering with Amazon to develop an exciting built-in Amazon Alexa™ feature. This will be included in a range of late 2020 Buick models, letting drivers stay better connected than ever before. Whether you want the latest weather updates or hands-free entertainment, Amazon Alexa™ will be a truly convenient feature.
The new partnership is set to coincide with the 2021 Buick Envision promotion, as vehicles such as the Encore GX, Enclave, Regal, and Lacrosse are already Alexa™-compatible. Drivers behind the wheel of models like the Encore GX will be able to get directions, play music, and even order goods online using the Alexa™-powered Amazon platform.
“Getting people to think differently about Buick is a motivation behind everything we do,” said Kate Hrabovksy, the Buick Media Operations Manager. “We are a brand that’s not afraid to take risks and have some fun.”
This voice-driven device also comes with a custom shopping “utterance” from Alexa™, which is a special phrase that drivers can use to learn more about their vehicle. For example, you can say, “Alexa™, tell me more about Buick SUVs,” in order to hear more about Buick features and models. This is the first time Amazon has given an automaker this kind of custom “utterance,” which is just one of many highlights that come with the GM and Amazon partnership.
