Three Chevy trucks made the U.S. News & World Report list of “The 11 Best Diesel Pickup Trucks of 2021.”  The 2021 Chevy Colorado, Silverado 1500, and the Silverado HD were all chosen for their technology, trailering ability, and powerful diesel performance.

Small But Mighty

The 2021 Chevy Colorado offers a Duramax 2.8-liter Turbo-Diesel four-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This small truck is able to tow up to 7,700 pounds, which makes it a great truck for maneuvering in traffic or heading to the hills.

Classic Power

The 2021 Silverado 1500 is available with a Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel delivering 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The Silverado is rated to tow up to 9,500 pounds, which is plenty of power for an independent contractor, farmer, or an outdoor enthusiast.

Heavy Duty Power

The Silverado HD is the most powerful of Chevy’s full-size pickups. The HD’s Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 offers 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. When paired with the Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission, the HD has a best-in-class towing rating of 36,000 pounds. Chevrolet Adds Midnight and Sport Editions to Its 2021 Chevrolet Traverse Lineup

2021 Chevrolet Traverse Lineup | Huntsville, TX

The Chevrolet Traverse is already one of the most stylish vehicles in its segment. Still, Chevrolet has found another way to make this desirable daily driver an even more refined ride.

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse will come available in both the Midnight Edition and Sport Edition configurations.

The Midnight Edition of the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse decks the Traverse in a nearly all-black exterior. Chrome accents throughout have been replaced with blacked-out features. Furthermore, this version of the Chevrolet Traverse rides atop 18-inch gloss black-painted aluminum wheels. Finally, the exterior will be adorned in an exclusive Mosaic Black Metallic exterior hue.

The Sport Edition of the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse has many of the same features that you’ll find with the Midnight Edition. However, while the Midnight Edition comes adorned in the exclusive Mosaic Black Metallic color, the Sport Edition features an artist’s palette of other exterior shades. These include Cajun Red Tintcoat, Summit White, and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat. All of these paint jobs work in tandem with the black accents to deliver a refined, athletic look.

You’ll be able to find these 2021 Chevy Traverse special edition models, along with more traditional versions of the Chevy SUV, out on our dealership lot here at Wiesner of Huntsville.

Tips for First-Time Truck Buyers

Tips For First Time Truck Buyers | Huntsville, TX

Here in Texas, we love our pickup trucks. If you are ready to join the pickup truck crew for the first time, we have a few tips to share that will make it easier. These tips will help you choose the right truck for your lifestyle.

What are your needs?

What do you need a truck for? Will it be your everyday driver for commutes and errands in Huntsville? Are you planning on doing any towing? Make sure you get the features that you really need. For example, if you have a family, you will probably want a spacious crew cab Chevrolet or GMC model. If you need towing capabilities, be sure to get the towing package.

Do not buy more than you need

Trucks are big and can be expensive. While you might be tempted to buy the strongest, most cable truck on the lot, it might come with features that cost thousands and you will never use. Focus on the capabilities you do need and plan on using to help cut down on the cost.

Trucks are different than cars

If you have driven a sedan your whole life, you might be surprised by how different driving a truck feels. They are big and require more room for parking and other maneuvers. Do a thorough test drive to make sure you can handle the size.

At Wiesner of Huntsville, we can help you find the perfect pickup truck for your lifestyle.

Both trucks will be available with an array of new trailering features and camera views. These include a trailer length indicator, a jack-knife alert, an improved cargo bed view, an upgraded rear trailer view with guidelines and a trailer-angle indicator, and an enhanced rear side view.

The 2021 Silverado and 2021 Sierra can tow more weight, too. On both models, the 2.7-liter turbo engine and 3.0-liter Duramax® turbodiesel have added around a ton of extra capability.

The Last Chevy Impala

The Last Chevy Impala | Huntsville, TX

Chevy is evolving in a push to build more eco-friendly, cost-effective vehicles for our modern times. To make way for a new wave of powerful, capable, and innovative electric trucks, Chevrolet has put a halt to the long-running Impala nameplate. The last model rolled off the production line in February of 2020.

GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck factory manufactured the last Chevy Impala, a red sedan which was sold to an undisclosed private owner. This marks the third hiatus for the car, which was previously discontinued from 1983 to 1986, and again from 1997 to 1999.

The Impala started as a trim for the Chevy Bel Air in 1958 before becoming a standalone model. In 1965, a record 1 million Impalas were purchased, and it was the country’s best-selling car in 1977 and 1978.

The Detroit-Hamtramck facility will undergo renovations to become a plant for manufacturing electric trucks and SUVs. The first electric model will be the Hummer EV SUT for late 2021. The Cruise Origin electric shuttle will follow shortly thereafter.

Chevrolet expects to launch an all-electric pickup truck by 2025 to go along with an electric crossover SUV. These vehicles are part of an 11-vehicle wave created by Chevy to move towards a more eco-friendly future.
