We all spend so much time on the road, it can be easy to forget how dangerous a place it can be. To keep yourself and your loved ones safe, though, there’s no better vehicle to drive than a Chevy. In fact, five different Chevrolet models have earned 5-star ratings from the NHTSA this year.
The NHTSA tests vehicle safety by putting models through a variety of crashes — crashes from the front, from a side barrier, from a side pole, and by rollover. After the collision, the organization examines the injuries sustained by the dummies inside the vehicle and uses that information to determine how safe the vehicle is for human passengers.
For 2022, the Trax, Trailblazer, Equinox, Blazer, and Camaro all earned five-star designations, meaning that collisions in these vehicles are less likely to result in injury. It’s easy to see why. The Trax, for instance, features a high-strength steel safety cage.
Chevy Advanced Technologies
Chevy also packs its vehicles with advanced technologies that help mitigate or even prevent wrecks, like Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning on the Equinox, available Rear Park Assist on the Trailblazer, available Forward Collision Alert on the Camaro, and an available Safety Alert Seat in the Blazer.
